Walking with lions and Cheetahs
Walks are carried out daily during the cooler parts of the day: in early mornings and late afternoons.
The entire adventure, starting with the safety briefing and ending with the refreshment time, lasts a couple of hours. The walking takes place on the banks of Riviere du Rempart which forms part of the 2000 acres of the estate.
Under the coolness of the coqueluche trees indigenous to Mauritius you can take pleasure in viewing the lions playing amid you, hopping on the rocks of the river banks and scaling the trees.
On your arrival, the Safari Adventure team will be welcoming you and consecutively will brief you with a short introductory chat on the lions and a few words about the safety measures which should be taken during the adventure.
The guests will then be introduced to the lions and their handlers.
From the moment you meet the lions, your adventure shall begin and thou shall reign the forest..
Lion and Cheetah Interactions
Carried out throughout the day 9am to 5pm the lion interaction is a very popular activity although not as enlivening as the walk you are however still amongst and become one of the "Pride".
The shear size and beauty of the lion can really be appreciated, the strength in his nails as he climbs the trees and plays on the stumps mingling around you. This is a real "up close" experience. In Touch with the wild really comes to life with this adventure.
Filming and Advertising
Like his father, Graeme also continues in the filming and advertising industry. He has a a very cordial bond with the BBC wildlife unit in the United Kingdom and has made movies such as 'Lions - Spy in the Den' 'Pride' 'Big Cat Diaries' to name only a few last ones.
